- It saves the cost of renting a tuxedo
- its tradition, to wear your uniform for special occasions
- because they have dress military uniforms (jacket, tie, dress pants, ribbons, etc) that is there dress uniform, they usually wear BDU's when they are working, its a dress outfit, it shows they are veterans, and the pictures will be great to show your grandkids 30-40 years down the road
- Some consider the uniform an honor to possess and wear, and in the same idea, it is an honor that the woman marries him! I see no problem with it!
- Because wearing your uniform is an honor. You work so long and hard to get the right to wear it. Not everyone can wear a military uniform...it's a right only members of the Armed Services have..and no one can ever take that away from you. So when they get married it's the most important day in their life they want to wear something that means something to them.
- Why does it bother you what they wear?
- There are two really simple answers to your question. First, many women, particularly those marrying someone in the military are attracted to men in uniform, and secondly, it eliminates the expense of having to buy a suit or rent a tux.
- For many, the military is a lifestyle, as well as a job, but getting married in uniform is totally their option. Some choose to wear their uniform...others don't. A formal military wedding is very impressive if you have never seen one.
- Pride. We are proud of our service and frankly dress blues look better than any tux out there. We've earned it, though we have the option of not wearing it. Secondarily, it does also symbolize that a woman is marrying the military as well as a man. It's not really intended to make that statement, but it is a symbolic reality.
- why not?
- i'm single but i can't wait to see my future husbamd in his green's i would be so proud
- because their spouse TOLD them they were wearing their Dress Blues for the wedding. *grin* At least, that's what I told my husband when we got married.
- Having been a Marine, there is no tux that could come close to looking better than the Marine dress blues.
- Actually they do have military weddings you know military chaiplan honorguard with swords it's much cheaper considering it's military and the Class A's just make more sense.
- My brother is an officer in the U.S. Army and when he got married several years ago, he wore his dress blues. He looked awesome. I've never seen my brother look better. He wears his uniform with pride and he and his bride had a very beautiful wedding. Their picutures were awesome too. It is an honor to wear a military uniform. Some people just don't understand.
- Personal preference.
