How do I perfectly wash white uniform items?
I have these military uniform items like WHITE gloves, a WHITE belt, and a few other things. I got them pretty dirty and they need to be perfectly bright white. What products should I buy at the store (detergent and bleach?) Cold water or hot water? What settings o the washer? Thanks, help a clueless PFC

- You wouldn't wash any dress uniform yourself, unless you own a dry cleaning service. All dress uniforms need to be dry cleaned, otherwise, they can be damaged; just like any fragile dress clothing. If you get them dry cleaned, the uniform will be properly pressed. If you live on post, there will be a laundry service provided. If you live off post, you can seek reimbursement on your tax returns for the laundering of your military service uniform at a civilian dry cleaners. The ACU can be washed in the washing machine, same as any working uniform and the IPFU (PT Uniform).
- If you really want to wash the cloths yourself, you would put detergent in the wash machine with a cup of bleach first before putiing the whites, make sure the water is all in and then put your cloths in, cold water for bleaching. you can wash your belt or just wash it by hand, soak it and then scrub it with a brush and lay it out to dry. they must be all whites no other cloths or you will get a white spot on your covered uniform and be out of uniform,.
